The replacement bus was delivered by Paul Barber of GM Coachworks Newton Abbot and accepted on behalf of Tavistock Area Support Services by West Devon Borough Mayor Councillor Dennis Bater. In the picture is also Niki and Bob Brereton both Volunteer Drivers for TASS.
The bus has already been put through its paces being used for bringing people in for the Friday Tea Dance and over the weekend it is taking a group up onto Dartmoor.
The project was a joint cooperation between Devon County, Tavistock Town and West Devon Borough Council in helping make a difference to older people within our area.
Andy Lyle Manager of TASS said, ' this is once again a good example of the Councils working together to benefit local people and the mini bus will help alleviate isolation for older people with in our area, giving them hope for a brighter tomorrow'.
If you want to know how TASS can help you or if you could spare a few hour volunteering to drive, please contact Andy on 01822 616958.
TASS is a local Charity making a Difference to Local people.
